I found this box (above) and realized that it was a cedar hope chest covered in 1/4 inch plywood. I rebuilt the box as shown in the 2 pictures below. It is now giving HOPE to Jessica in Los Osos.
In 2013 a friend's wife called to ask if I could repair something for her husband. The box ended up being a camping box that was about 90 years old. Dave's grandfather would strap the box to the running board of his truck and go camping. The sides of the box unfolded into a table with 4 legs. I didn't want to lose the integrity of this antique, which was badly weathered. I planed and repaired the wood, adding only the new edging to complete the design. Dave was pleased.

I had a lot of fun building this center console for Kris. I wanted it to go up without tilting and I also continued the Star Wars theme as my talented daughter hand crafted Star Wars seat covers to Kris' surprise.

I think Terrie had this idea, tying in my woodworking with the importance of reading. A toolbox for books for Logan's baby shower.

Jessica had unique decorations for her wedding. Branches became table decorations and a large burl, that I cut using a chain saw, became her cake stand. The remaining half of that 12 inch thick burl, rests in my yard.
I had a 8 inch round piece left over, so i cut 4 identical CRESCI signs. My Father, myself, my son and my daughter each have their piece hung proudly.

In 2014 Melissa & Justin had their daughter, Olivia. I couldn't let the occasion go by without building her something. Justin had the dresser on the left which I refinished. I then built the one on the right to match and added a removable top to act as a changing table.
Below was one of the few projects that I have done for profit. A friend, Gus Farrell, working for an electrical contractor, wanted some boxes for large rolls of plans. I made 2 and then a year later, made 2 more. The time spent figuring out the interlocking joint on the first 2 boxes, netted me about $5 an hour for my efforts.
